Viking boots are widely preferred by the marathon ice skaters and inline racers
of Holland. In the U.S. they don't yet enjoy the same level of popularity because
neophyte racers are discouraged by the lack of ankle support. However, this ankle
flexibility is part of their style and although it takes more effort to develop the
muscle tone and technique, ultimately this skate will make you a better skater.
The Viking Marathon series boots mount to the chassis by means of a replaceable
hex-head bolt that rides in a channel embedded in the sole of the boot. This feature
allows the iceblade or rollerchassis to be offset laterally.
